Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 27 May 2025

Welcome to SWAA!

By joining as a member, you agree to the following terms and conditions, which outline our mutual rights and responsibilities … you know, like a handshake deal you can’t cross your fingers on – we both do what we say we will, and we have a good time! Together, we’re raising the bar for support workers everywhere, one resource and training at a time.

So, let’s get down to the nitty gritty…

1. Membership Overview

1.1 Types of Membership:

1.1.1 Individual Memberships: For the legends out there doing the work, seeking professional development, resources, and a like-minded community.

1.1.2 Corporate/Group Memberships: For organisations looking to empower their teams with access to all that SWAA has to offer (and make their HR manager look like a rockstar).

1.2 Membership Period:

Memberships are offered on a rolling monthly basis or as an annual upfront payment. All memberships auto-renew unless cancelled in advance (see section 2.4 for the fine details).

1.3 Member Benefits:

Membership perks include access to exclusive content, trainings, downloadable tools, cheeky-but-true career advice, networking opportunities, and advocacy goodness. These inclusions and/or supplies may change from time to time.

2. Membership Fees and Payment

 2.1 Pricing:
Membership fees are listed on our website and are subject to review and adjustment annually. Price summary below -

Pre-launch Rate: $19/month

Launch Rate: $22/month

Full Member Rate: $27/month

If you’re super organised and pay up front for the year, we are happy to pat you on the back and give you one month free (i.e: Pay 11 months upfront, get 12 months.)

2.2 Payment Terms:

All payments are via direct debit. Fees are payable in advance. Failed payments may result in suspended access.

2.3 Refunds:

No refunds for change of mind, but compliant with Australian Consumer Law whenever applicable to our unique services. If we make a boo-boo with your billing, please contact us and we will sort this out for you.

2.4 Auto-Renewal:

Memberships auto-renews unless cancelled 30 days before renewal. You authorise recurring charges without individual approvals because let’s be real, no one likes ongoing admin work!

 3. Membership Use

3.1 Access and Login:

Members are provided with unique login credentials. Whilst sharing is caring, we ask that you not share login information as this will be in breach of our handshake agreement.

3.2 Content and Conduct:

Members must engage respectfully and professionally ensuring compliance with our Code of Conduct. Posting offensive, defamatory, or misleading content in forums or events is strictly prohibited. Violations may lead to suspension or termination without refund.

3.3 Corporate Memberships:

Organizations are responsible for ensuring their employees comply with these terms. Usage audits may be conducted to verify compliance.

 4. Termination of Membership

 4.1 By the Member:

Members may cancel at any time via the member portal or by written notice. Benefits will cease at the end of the current billing period.

4.2 By SWAA:

We reserve the right to terminate memberships for violations of these terms, non-payment, or fraudulent activity. Refunds are not applicable in these circumstances.

 5. Intellectual Property and Content

 5.1 SWAA Materials:

Members may access resources and materials for personal or organizational use but may not reproduce, sell, or distribute them without permission.

 5.2 Member Contributions:

Members retain ownership of any content submitted but grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use it for promotional or educational purposes.

6. Privacy and Data Use

Your privacy is important to us. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information on how we collect, store, and use your data.

7. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from membership use. Our maximum liability is limited to the amount of membership fees paid in the last 12 months.

 8. Dispute Resolution

We can’t imagine having much to disagree with you over but if we do have a dispute, we will address it through informal negotiations in accordance with Australian law. If unresolved, and we need to up the ante, we may proceed to binding arbitration.

 9. Amendments to Terms

We may update these terms periodically. Members will be notified of significant changes, and continued membership and use after changes indicates acceptance.

 10. Interruption to Services

10.1 Unscheduled Interruptions

You acknowledge that the Services may be interrupted for many reasons beyond our control. You agree that we are not liable to you for any loss, foreseeable or not, arising from any interruption to the Services.

 10.2 Scheduled Interruptions

If it is necessary for us to interrupt the Services, we will give you reasonable notice where possible and when we think the down time is such as to justify telling you (i.e: we won’t bother you if it’s just a minor disruption… just the big-ticket stuff!)

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any legal disputes shall be heard in a court of competent jurisdiction within the relevant state or territory.
